Sol Campbell has joined along side ex-England manager Sven Goran Erikson with league two Notingham County. Campbell reportedly signed a 5 year contracted with the team on a free transfer.

the 34 years old will stay with them in the hope of qualifying for the Premiere League. Campbell's contract expired last month with Porstmouth.

"A few Premier League teams wanted me but I am looking to the future. The offers in the Premier League were more short-term. And it's not about money. I wasn't offered more money really".

he added "It's a challenge but I think everyone connected with the club is prepared for that. And what a fantastic dream to have to keep winning promotions and get Notts County back into the Premier League."

Sven Goran Erikson is also happy to have Sol Campbell in the team. "We are very happy that he has taken on the challenge and we are looking forward to getting him settled into the team and seeing him pull on a Notts County shirt as soon as possible."

Notingham County was taken over by a middle eastern company, Munto Finance, this year, they are looking to expand big and hopeful to get into premiere league.
